Thomas Liorac, one of the last French manufacturers of high-end horn combs, has just been awarded the EPV (Living Heritage Companies) label, awarded by the Ministry of Economy and Finance on March 8, 2017. This label of State distinguishes French companies for their know-how and means, their history and their evolution.
Saving a rare know-how rewarded
The manufacture of horn combs Thomas Liorac uses both high-precision tools and the irreplaceable hand of man. The various manufacturing techniques, the quality of the manual steps, the materials, as well as the ability to safeguard and transmit a rare know-how have allowed this recognition, which now places Thomas Liorac among the jewels of the French economic and cultural heritage. The training of an apprentice takes a year. Marguerite Villedey, the founder, is currently training the third employee of the company.
